via Instagram Vocal recording with Yamaha NS10s and @zerovurecording • • • • • Who hates #recordingvocals with headphones? This is a great old school technique. Run the mix with no vocals out a stereo bus with everything panned to the center to a pair of studio monitors ( I use @yamahans10 ) Reverse the polarity of one of the monitors. It is important that the monitors and mic are each at the corners of an equilateral triangle. I created a jig so that each side of the triangle is 4 feet. Because one side of the mix is reversed the null occurs at the microphone. The mix will sound about as loud as headphone bleed in the finished vocal track but the singer will hear it as a comfortable level to sing over. #yamahans10 #vocals #speakerlove #studio
